Massage for Horse Owners

This one day course will be led by ACPAT Physiotherapist Robyn Dunn and is designed for riders and owners who want to learn more about massaging their own horses! During the course we will look at the anatomy of the horse and learn where all the surface muscles are located. We will practice different massage techniques safely and effectively on the horse and learn how to incorporate stretches and mobilisation exercises into your massage session.

Just some of the benefits of massage:
– relaxation
– reduced muscle tension
– injury prevention
– improving performance
– recovery after a competition/exercise
– building a better bond with your horse!

Time: 10am – 5pm
Cost: £75 (payment required to secure your place)

Really enjoyed the day and my horse has really benefited from what I’ve learned. Thanks very much Robyn, I really could listen to you teach everyday. You are really engaging and it’s clear you are very passionate and love what you do which is infectious! Really well done! Excellent course!

Rider Analysis – Weekend Clinic

Bring your horse along to our facility in Hamilton/Larkhall for a Rider Analysis Session.

First of all we will have a chat and find out a bit more about you. Then we will assess you on your horse using our ‘Visualise’ jackets and gloves. We will take videos of you riding certain movements and then analyse in slow motion using Dartfish software.

Then we will assess you OFF the horse, looking at your strength, symmetry and suppleness before spending some time treating, releasing and activating your body.

Following this, we will then re-assess you ON the horse and compare footage from before and after your hands on session.

Next Date: 25th March 2017
Cost: £60

Align your spine workshop

Have you ever been told to ‘sit up straight’ even though you thought you already were? Can you feel yourself collapsing to one side but have no idea how to correct it? Do you want to improve your position in the saddle and get those extra marks in your dressage test? Is your horse ‘stiffer’ on one rein more than the other?

Come along to Outline HQ for a morning workshop focusing on improving your alignment. Learn more about how your spine works and how to achieve better alignment in the saddle. Learn how to correctly engage your core muscles, release tight muscles and strengthen weak muscles to improve your position and transform your riding.
